OpenAI has removed the login requirement for its ChatGPT AI chatbot, allowing users to access the free version instantly, without creating an account. The announcement was made via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, with OpenAI emphasizing its commitment to making AI more accessible.
Previously, users had to sign up for an OpenAI account to use ChatGPT, which may have hindered adoption. Following its launch in late 2022, traffic peaked at over 1.8 billion visits in May 2023 but later declined. OpenAI had also introduced premium subscriptions for products like DALL-E.
This move is expected to simplify the user experience and broaden the reach of AI technology. By eliminating barriers to entry, OpenAI aims to encourage exploration and innovation in AI applications. With ChatGPT now available for instant use, the potential for AI-driven interactions is set to expand further.
